Colocation - first-offer RFQ (price and operating variables)

This document is for first-round colocation outreach to validate major operating variables:

  • Monthly fixed costs
  • Power pricing and included kWh model
  • Contract terms and flexibility
  • Operational support quality (remote hands, response times)

Goal in round 1:

  • Get comparable commercial offers quickly
  • Do not over-negotiate technical edge cases yet
  • Build a shortlist for deeper technical/legal review

1) Baseline requirement profile (for quote comparability)

Use this exact profile for all providers in the first round:

  • Workload: GPU server hosting (marketplace model)
  • Start: 1x server (4x A100 80GB class), growth path to 2-3 servers
  • Initial space need: 4U to 8U, target option to expand to 12U+
  • Initial power target: 1.5 kW continuous, quote option for 2.5 kW
  • Power feed preference: redundant A/B if available (state surcharge if any)
  • Network: at least 1 Gbps uplink (quote options for 10 Gbps)
  • Public IP: at least /29 equivalent or explicit per-IP pricing
  • Remote hands: quote with monthly included minutes and overage pricing
  • Location preference: Germany (or nearby EU) with low-latency to DE users
  • Contract options requested: month-to-month, 12 months, 24 months

  • Exact SLA (power/network availability, credits, exclusions)
  • Escalation path and guaranteed response windows
  • Detailed remote hands catalog
  • All recurring vs one-time fees in a single commercial sheet
  • Legal terms for early termination, liability caps, and indexation
